Comic Convergence will be traveling next weekend to attend our first Conventions of the year. Two of our administrators will be staying East to attend
Super Mega Fest and the other two will be flying to the West Coast to attend Star Wars:
Celebration!
Super Mega Fest is a smaller convention located this year in Marlborough MA at the Royal Plaza Convention Center. It has moved locations from its previous home at the Sheraton Hotel in Framingham, MA with hopes of expansion. John attended the event in Framingham last year and told the group that it is 'a fun little con' and is most enjoyable for the cosplay and vendors as there were not many comic artists or (current) celebrities to meet.
This years Mega Fest looks like it will have much more to offer this time around with a bigger list of celebrities and artists. Among the celebrities, you can look forward to seeing Chris Sarandon and Ken Page, both known for their voice acting roles as 'Jack Skellington' and 'Oogie Boogie' in The Nightmare Before Christmas, Barry Bostwick and Patricia Quinn from Rocky Horror Picture Show, and Josh McDermit, known for his role as 'Eugene' in AMC's The Walking Dead.
If art is your thing, you can look forward to seeing artists that have resumes that include work from independent to mainstream, including Bob Camp (Ren & Stimpy), Ethan Van Sciver (DC & Marvel), and Cary Nord (Marvel & Dark Horse), among many others. Also be sure to check out some of the talented local cosplay artists who will be in attendance and stop by

Fatal Frames Cosplay, and will be dressed as New 52 Joker and Original style Harley Quinn. Be sure to say 'hi' if you see them at the convention.
On the other side of the country, in Anaheim California, Jon and Matt will be in attendance at Star Wars: Celebration!, this year located at the Anaheim Convention Center. Celebration! brings the amazing culture that has grown out of the Star Wars saga and brings it all under one roof. From the celebrities and actors that attend, to the beautiful costuming organizations that are the 501st and Rebel Legion, you will feel like you are in a 'galaxy far, far away'.
Among the celebrities appearing this year are Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) , Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), Billy Dee Williams (Lando Calrissian), Kenny Baker (R2-D2), Anthony Daniels (C3-PO), Ian McDiarmid (Palpatine) and many more. This year is unique as JJ Abrams will be in attendance. With the upcoming release of Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens, you can bet that there will be a lot of buzz about the new film with special panels and Q&A on the movie.
Administrators of Comic Convergence, Jon and Matt will be in attendance dressed as 'Sithpool' and 'Darth Draconis'. Be sure to say hi if you see them walking around!
It is sure to be a great weekend from Coast to Coast that will produce many great stories that we look forward to sharing with everyone. Have fun, Make memories, and May the Force be with you!
