Some major intel was intercepted today during the EA Battlefront
panel at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim. It was confirmed that Star Wars
Battlefront gameplay will indeed tie-in to the upcoming film: The Force
Awakens. It was explained that the downed Star Destroyer that is seen in the
second teaser trailer- released yesterday during the opening panel at
Celebration- will be explained in the first DLC for the upcoming Star Wars
Battlefront game and will be titled “Battle of Jakku”. Other playable levels
will include Endor and Hoth, as well as a new planet (based off Eath’s Iceland)
Sullust.
Some key elements of the game include being able to play in
1st or 3rd person, you can play as iconic heroes/villains
including Darth Vader and Boba Fett among others, and vehicles will have a big
role in the game.
Star Wars Battlefront has a release date on November 17,
2015 and the first DLC – The Battle of Jakku – is to be released on Dec. 8,
2015. For those that pre-order the game, early access for the first DLC will be
granted starting on Dec. 1
